Chiropractic

The Nervous system controls everything in our body. If there is any interference in the nervous system, the body isn’t working at its full potential. Subluxations (misalignments) in the spine cause nerve interference. Chiropractic care allows for corrective care of these subluxations, allowing for the nervous system to work optimally.

Massage Therapy

Long-standing spinal problems are accompanied by ingrained muscle patterns. Muscle spasms and scar tissue are often involved. By augmenting your chiropractic care with massage therapy, these muscle and soft tissue problems can be addressed. This can help speed your recovery and enhance the retraining of your spine.

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It's based on the theory that energy, called chi (say "chee"), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.

Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances your chi. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow back into balance.

Acupuncture is done by putting very thin needles into your skin at certain points on your body. This is done to influence the energy flow. Sometimes heat, pressure, or mild electrical current is used along with needles.

Gurjit started his Massage Therapy career at Optimal Chiropractic and Massage Therapy in June of 2021 after graduating from Westcoast College of Massage Therapy. Gurjit is an ambitious Massage Therapist who has gained experience from a variety of patients such as athletes, patients with neurological disorders, lifelong illnesses as well as those seeking pain/ stress relief in their everyday lives.

Having gone through a motorcycle accident himself, he developed his aspiration to help people achieve physical and emotional wellness. In doing so he discovered that he could use his own experiences to better understand and relate to patients going through the same circumstances.

Every patient presents a unique set of symptoms and challenges which Gurjit focuses on through his assessments and actively listening to his patients. Through this process, he creates an individualized treatment plan with the goal of alleviating symptoms and determining the root causes. He uses his experiences and knowledge to perform therapeutic massages in order to relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation and aid in the general wellness of patients, bringing together a well-rounded treatment approach. With this knowledge he strives to create an environment in which his patients can heal and take steps forward towards a healthier and more fulfilling pain free lifestyle.

In his leisure time Gurjit likes to keep himself active with weight training and by doing other activities such as hiking, walking his sweet little dog and relaxing by spending time with his family and friends.

Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, my family and I continue to reside in Surrey. After graduating from Queen Elizabeth Senior Secondary School, I furthered my education at KPU where I completed two years of science before moving on to the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

I started my practice in 1996, and continue with Post Graduate education with courses consisting in Muscle Energy Techniques, Body Ball Training, Core Stability, and Deep Myofascial Release.

When not at the clinic I love to spend time with my wife Loretta and our two kids: Marcus and Makayla. My other true passions in life consist of staying fit and active, and I can very often be found coaching lacrosse, playing ice hockey, playing golf, or at the gym working out.
